Autonomy Acquires Interwoven

UK-based Autonomy has announced it will acquire Interwoven for $775 million.  Autonomy, well known for its IDOL enterprise search and artificial intelligence technology, is a global leader providing governance, risk, and compliance solutions.  The acquisition of Interwoven and its iManage web content management solution will provide Autonomy with a strong position in the Legal industry where the iManage product has a large customer base.  Moreover, Interwoven should benefit nicely from Autonomy's document capture and BPM workflow technology it acquired from Cardiff Software in late 2005 to provide content capture solutions.
