We Volunteered to Help Keep Indianapolis Beautiful
As a company with a primary goal of helping businesses become more efficient by eliminating paper as much as possible, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful is the perfect organization to extend our donation of time to aid in fundraising opportunity success.
(RUN)317 – A 5k race for a cause
The (RUN)317 race is an event organized by Scotty’s Brewhouse. With the organizer of the race being a well-known restaurant chain who also owns breweries, not only was the race a sold out success, but there was also beer at the finish. Optiform signed up for Beer Patrol because someone has to make sure beer tickets are redeemed properly, ID’s are checked, and the party stays within the designated areas.
It was a fun evening and one that we were happy to take part in. Although the weather was rainy and cold, all the race participants and organizers were so happy and thankful for all volunteer efforts!
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful
If you are not from Indy, you may not know that we have a really awesome organization in town that contributes to the well-being of the Indianapolis area green environment. A passage taken from the home page of their website says: “Since 1976, KIBI has helped its neighbors plant more than 40,000 trees and has been supported by more than one thousand individual donors towards those efforts. We accomplish these lofty goals by engaging diverse communities through our hands-on programs and initiatives to create vibrant public places, helping people and nature thrive.”
The organization doesn’t just host 5k’s for fundraising and community improvement efforts, they also have a handful of other initiatives they organize that help to give back to the Indianapolis community:
- Planting trees: They have a goal of planting 100,000 trees!
- Cleanup, beautification, and placemaking such as Adopt-a-Block and the Great Indy Cleanup
- Youth Tree Team
- Other special initiatives like the big Lilly Day of Service and the Indy Do Day
We just volunteered for one of many initiatives that this great organization has available. If you are interested in doing your own part to help out the Indianapolis community, I’m sure that they would love to hear from you.

Below are a few of our photos from the event. We can’t wait until our next volunteer opportunity!
