A Happy Employee is a Productive Employee
According to one of my favorite fun websites, Days of the Year, the International Day of Happiness was introduced by the General Assembly of the United Nations during 2012 and was celebrated for the first time in 2013. The goal is to educate and increase public awareness of the benefits of happiness. We stumbled across a Fast Company article that references a recent study conducted four different experiments at the University of Warwick of over 700 participants.
A recent study by economists at the University of Warwick found that happiness led to a 12% spike in productivity, while unhappy workers proved 10% less productive. As the research team put it, “We find that human happiness has large and positive causal effects on productivity. Positive emotions appear to invigorate human beings.”
3 ways that Automation makes your staff happy
Confidence
Studies show that when an individual has confidence in who they are and what they do, they are more likely to be successful.
Fewer mundane tasks create the feeling of purpose
A passage taken from this Kofax whitepaper: “These manual tasks are time and labor-intensive and can result in significant inefficiencies and productivity losses for your business. That’s in addition to being mind-numbing, mundane work that saps employee morale.” The aforementioned whitepaper is titled “3 Ways Logistics Providers Automating Manual Process”, and the section that the quote followed named the logistics industry manual data entry tasks of:
- Scheduling and tracking shipments (Track and Trace)
- Gathering freight bill payment
- Generating and collecting on invoices
- Resolving payment disputes
- Securing proofs of delivery
- Capturing, researching and closing out loads
Each of these tasks can be automated. Your employees can be doing so much more than just data entry. They know your business and with automation in the mix, they can have a greater sense of purpose and contribute to the success of your organization.
Completion
Have you ever completed a job and felt the weight of the world lifted from your shoulders? Me too.
When dealing with paper-heavy, manual data entry processes, the job never seems to end.
If you can insert a data capture software to help with eliminating some of this manual work, your team is able to complete document processing tasks at a rate that is faster than any human is capable of. Our customers typically see an ROI immediately after their business process automation software is implemented. When you remove the data entry tasks and convert to data verification tasks, the processing speed is mind-blowing.
Let us show you how it’s done!
