Searching for OCR and landed on the Optiform website? Welcome!
In every industry there are acronyms that mean one thing to those inside the circle of knowledge and something completely different to others.
OCR for example: To Optiform, it means Optical Character Recognition. To athletes it probably means something completely different. Obstacle Course Races are also represented by the OCR acronym. One is software and the other is not anything near soft at all.
How do the Two OCR’s Compare?
One induces exhaustion
Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) is a sport in which a competitor, traveling on foot, must overcome various physical challenges that are present in the form of obstacles. Often times, mud and trail runs are combined with hurdles to jump, ropes or walls to climb, mud to wade through, and fire or ice to endure. The races are designed to result in mental and physical collapse.
The races are tests of endurance, strength, speed and dexterity.
One reduces exhaustion
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) helps business overcome hurdles in their workplace business document processing. In a traditional setting, if there is a document containing data which needs to be entered into a CRM or other internal software, a staff member will hand-key the data. Much like an Obstacle Course Race, this tedious mundane work can result in mental collapse and burnout.
OCR software improves the speed of document processing in a business setting.
